. . . interesting read, thanx! looking forward to the next chapter.
i remember my first hypercard stack - i "mailed" a digital birthday card across the hall to my little sister. i spent *hours* drawing her face wearing a princess crown in macpaint!
refreshing thoughts about interface design... got me thinking. again, thanx!
. . . This was great, as was chapter 1. I did in fact enjoy the D'oh tangent.
You have some typos in chapter 2...
para 3, page 2, Well, there’s always a new low-res medium; today its mobile phone screens.
note, para 4, page 3, Why was the mousedowm state forgotten? para 4, page 3, How hard is it to tell users “yes, I know your clicked?"
para 1, page 4, This section is a quicky('quickie'? probably)para 1, bubblewrap sidebar, but don’t try that, because I built this page with CCS. (you mean CSS? also, it worked for me. I am exclusive. woo.)I would, in fact, buy you a pint, but I've recently moved from Toronto to Edmonton. I miss the non-extreme cold.
. . . I was reading on old (1998) web design book and read about the Mackerel Stack. I decided it was time to find out more. I went hunting and found, well what I found. It was nice to relieve some of the old days. I still have my first Mac with all of its software, including Hypercard and it still works, albiet a bit slow. Thanks for the wonderful memories.
