The Mighty Mites, a longtime feature of Owl Magazine, are a team of whiz kids who digimagically become tiny and have adventures saving animals around the world. In 1997 Mackerel launched Mighty Mites on AOL, the online presence for a planned multichannel program that was also to include an animated TV program.

THE MIGHT MITES HOLE The hole is their HQ in the stories and also serves as the MM online home page. The Mackerel team combined 3D environments with illustrated active characters, to create a vibrant jumping off point for everything from live chats to online adventures.

EXCLUSIVE ONLINE COMICS featured work by up and coming comic artists, commisioned by Mackerel, and new downloadable multimedia content with each adventure.

DOWNLOADABLE MITEY COMP Mites fans could download Seth’s PDA, which worked as a player for downloadable content.

BIO BYTES Small information packages with multimedia content about animals ecountered in the online adventures were downloaded and then played back in the MiteyComp. In time kids would have a library of information about cool animals.
